If you’re open and honest with your team, you’ll do your best—and they’ll provide you with answers, encouragement, and help you live a fulfilling life. Your care team (sometimes called the treatment team or clinical team) can help you with more than just your treatment.

Your participation is important to your treatment and progress. Open communication with your care team will help them understand how you are feeling and how they can help. Whenever you need help or have something to share, speak up.
Understand who does what
Nephrologist
Your kidney doctor prescribes dialysis treatments and medications as needed. Your nephrologist will carefully monitor your treatment progress and make any necessary adjustments over time.
Centre manager
Renal center manager manages and lead your care team to ensure you get the personalized care you need. If you have any questions or concerns, your manager can help.
Dialysis nurse
A dialysis nurse administers hemodialysis treatments as prescribed by your nephrologist. They work closely with you to manage your treatment. They are a great resource if you have questions or feel uncomfortable.
Nutritionist* (vacant)
Nutrition experts can help you eat well while incorporating the foods you love. Your nutritionist will assess your nutritional levels and assist you in developing a meal plan to help you get proper nutrition while on dialysis.
